Hot tip from our Multi Platform guru, Gary Hayes – storyboard app for iphone
Gary Hayes – all round multi platform guru here at AFTRS has circulated this bit of intel. around the school today – and we thought it might be a good one to share with the the red set community….
“For those on projects at the moment, still in storyboard / previs stage of their project and who have an iPhone THIS is just the thing for you! ¬ £12 well spent ” GH
The product spiel:
“Aspiring movie makers rejoice! Hitchcock the iPhone app is here. Cinemek Hitchcock for iPhone and iPod Touch is a mobile storyboard and pre-visualization composer designed for Directors, Directors of Photography, Producers, Writers, Animators, Art Directors, film students and anyone who wants to be able to visualize their story.
A first in its genre, the Hitchcock storyboarding application uses photos from your iPhone and adds traditional storyboarding markups such as dolly, track, zoom and pan. You can even add your own stand-ins. The user can set a duration for each storyboard panel and then play it back to get real time feedback on pacing and framing. ”
Streamlining the process: go to a location scout, snap a few photos, make some moves, scene descriptions and then send your client a PDF storyboard before you leave your location scout .

Thanks for the hat tip! and of course if you think the iPhone screen is a little diminutive for location work, consider getting this accessory – straight from the matrix, the wrap around Vuzix 920, – available in a few weeks! I can see the whole crew wearing these in a few years
