Steve Newman: very tiny wild things

Spotted in the LA times today is news that Miniatures and VFX DOP Steve Newman is doing “speccy work”on Where The Wild Things Are the upcominig feature from Spike Jonze
Steve is one of our earliest cinematography grads and has also taught here over the years….. the piece reports on how Steve was “tasked with filming the miniatures created for the movie – specifically, a detailed cityscape constructed on a tabletop that depicted one character’s idealized vision of an alternate land where he lived with his fellow furry “wild things.”

…even more reason now for the red set to keep an eye on this project as it unfolds and makes its way to the big screen
