It’s official – a host of AFTRS people nommed for 2010 AFI awards

With the final nominees officially released last week we have perused this year’s honour roll and spotted the following AFTRS people up for a prestigious AFI award:

- AFI AWARD FOR BEST TELEVISION DRAMA SERIES:

Spirited Jacquelin Perske (Screenwriting 1994) with Claudia Karvan and John Edwards.

The Circuit, Series 2 Ross Hutchens (Directing 1986) with Colin South

- AFI AWARD FOR BEST FEATURE LENGTH DOCUMENTARY: The Snowman AFTRS Foundation lecturer Rachel Landers along with Dylan Blowen

- AFI AWARD FOR BEST SHORT FICTION FILM: AFTRS short film The Love Song Of Iskra Prufrock made by AFTRS graduate Lucy Gaffy (Directing 2009) and current Producing student Lyn Norfor

- AFI AWARD FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY UNDER ONE HOUR: You Only Live Twice ‐ The Incredibly True Story Of The Hughes Family. AFTRS Head of Documentary, Ruth Cullen.

- AFI AWARD FOR BEST EDITING IN A DOCUMENTARY Contact Tania Nehme (Editing 1991)

- AFI AWARD FOR BEST DIRECTION & MACQUARIE AFI AWARD FOR BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY: Bright Star. Jane Campion (Directing 1984)

- MACQUARIE AFI AWARD FOR BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY: Bran Nue Dae Rachel Perkins (Producing 1996) along with Reg Cribb and Jimmy Chi.

- AFI AWARD FOR BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY The Waiting City Denson Baker ACS
